Here are the best bluetooth earbuds you can find. While this list is not very long, that’s ok. There are not too many Bluetooth earbuds out there anyway – most manufacturers make Bluetooth headsets and headphones, so the pack is small to start with. That’s why we have narrowed this down to a short list of the three best Bluetooth earbuds.
Etymotic Research Ety8 Bluetooth Stereo Wireless In-Ear Earphones
I like to joke that Etymotic Research is the greatest company you have never heard of. They have been quietly making headphone and earplugs for professional audio engineers, recording artists, and other people whose job depends on having the best ear protection and headphones available.
So unless you spend all day in a studio, the Ety8 earphones they make will not be familiar.
The sound quality of the Ety8 is fantastic. These do not sound like the cheap, cranked up bass, low quality headphones you are used to. These earbuds produce the highest fidelity sound you can get from earbuds. Period. End of story. The Ety8 reproduces music exactly as the artist made it.
Technically, these earbuds are compatible with any recent iPod or iPhone, and any other computer/audio out/etc.
They also cancel out up to 40dB of noise. That’s so powerful, it’s like making a noisy airplane cabin sound like a calm living room. All these things together make the Ety8 the best Bluetooth earbuds you can buy.
Sony DRBT100CX
The Sony DRBT100CX series are the second best Bluetooth earbuds out there. At about half the price of the ETY8′s they are more affordable for everyone.
Sound reproduction is good. Not professional level quality, but much better than most of what other manufacturers are making. Many companies just use the same music drivers as they use in cell-phone only headsets. By doing this they don’t sound as good playing music though.
Sony does not have this problem. The DRBT100CX is made first of all for music – not for talking. It will work for cell phones (of course) too. The DRBT100CX is compatible with all modern MP3 players and iPhones.
They have a slim profile, and most importantly do not have the “headband” that loops behind your hair.
You can buy the DRBT100CX in blue, black, or silver. And at under $90 in many places it’s a great bargain.
Plantronics BackBeat 906 Stereo Bluetooth Headset
Plantronics has been making comfortable headsets for ever. I’ve gone through a couple myself for old-school phones over the years and have never had trouble with the gear they make.
The 906 earbuds are very nice. The headband in the back is not rigid like other brands. It’s just a soft wire that fits nicely and can move. So unlike other stereo bluetooth headsets you can actually lean back in a chair, lie down on the beach, and relax in these. Nice
Sound quality is great too. These are stereo so when paired with a iPhone in call mode you hear the caller out of both ears, too. They also have dual microphones so if you call out on these, you will be heard easier.
The Bass Boost is punchy. Sometimes a little too much though at high volumes. But for all other uses, the 906′s are going to serve you well.
These place a very respectable #3 and worth looking at.
